Overview

At ODW-ELEKTRIK GmbH, I led several critical projects, taking on the primary responsibility for driving the company’s digital transformation. My leadership spanned across key initiatives, including the integration of the CIM Database with SAP interfaces and workflows, the rollout of Office365, the implementation of Exchange Online, the deployment of Teams with Teams Telephony, the creation of a SharePoint Online Intranet, the development of security awareness programs, and the design of PowerPlatform workflows. Each project was aimed at enhancing the company’s IT infrastructure, improving operational efficiency, and fostering a culture of innovation and security.

Implementation & Configuration

CIM Database: Led the integration of the CIM Database with SAP, ensuring seamless data flow and efficient workflows. This involved meticulous planning and execution to align with business processes and enhance data accuracy.

Office365 Rollout: Spearheaded the company-wide rollout of Office365, providing employees with modern tools for collaboration and productivity. This project included extensive training sessions to ensure smooth adoption and maximize the benefits of the new platform.

Exchange Online: Migrated the company’s email system to Exchange Online, enhancing reliability, security, and accessibility. This transition required careful planning to minimize downtime and ensure data integrity.

Teams and Teams Telephony: Implemented Microsoft Teams, including Teams Telephony, to streamline communication and collaboration. This project involved configuring Teams for various departments and training employees on its features and benefits.

SharePoint Online Intranet: Developed a SharePoint Online Intranet to centralize information and improve internal communication. This included designing user-friendly interfaces and organizing content to ensure easy access and navigation.

Security Awareness: Created and implemented a comprehensive security awareness program to educate employees on best practices for data protection and cybersecurity. This initiative included regular training sessions, phishing simulations, and informative resources.

PowerPlatform Workflow Development: Designed and developed workflows using Microsoft PowerPlatform to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency. This involved working closely with various departments to identify automation opportunities and create tailored solutions.

Challenges

Integrating the SAP interface and workflows for CIM Database presented significant challenges, particularly in ensuring data quality and consistency. Rigorous testing and validation processes were essential to address these issues. The Office365 rollout required overcoming resistance to change and ensuring that all employees were adequately trained to use the new tools effectively. Migrating to Exchange Online involved managing dependencies on legacy systems and ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption. Implementing Teams and Teams Telephony required careful coordination to ensure seamless communication across the organization. Developing the SharePoint Online Intranet involved creating a user-friendly design that met the diverse needs of different departments. The security awareness program faced the challenge of engaging employees and fostering a culture of cybersecurity. Results/Conclusion
